This week's photo challenge has a lot of interpretations, so we all managed to take photos.

With Grad Girl's schedule, giving 2 weeks for each photo card seems to be working much better. Her teaching responsibilities ended last week, but she still has lots of grading to do. Her thesis should be done next week and her statistics class ends a week from this Wednesday. Once she's past that, her life will get a bit easier, just studying for her defense is what she has left. With that said, we had photos for the last photography challenge:
It took all of us a month to come up with photos for the Week 135 photo challenge. At that end of that post back on March 1st, I wrote that it might take us another month to pull together photos for the week 136 challenge.
It's been a month since my last photo challenge post. My Guy as usual has been ready for me to post since the week after the last post. Grad Girl and I were the ones that drug this last challenge out. It's not a particularly hard one.
No post last week because Grad Girl needed a bit of time to get her photo. The first week of school was busy on several fronts and getting a photo wasn't her first priority. The challenge seemed a lot more restrictive than most of the others.
We all had photos, but My Guy forgot to send me his in time for me to get a post out last week. To be fair he's had a busy couple of weeks in the New Year. The last challenge card we pulled was a bit different.
With all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas holiday, none of us gave much thought to the photo challenge card we drew on December 13th.
It's been a while since our last photo challenge post. At first we struggled with the photos for this one.
We drew this card the Friday before Thanksgiving. With all the prep for the trip to Texas and Thanksgiving dinner, none of us really took the time to focus on getting a photo. Since then we've had deaths in the family, business trips, end of the semester. It's just been a busy time.
I had a hard time getting creative with this particular challenge. When I reviewed my photos, I decided this one was the most interesting ...

This week My Guy was the one that waited till the last minute to get any photos for this week's challenge.
We all thought last week's challenge was hard. This week's was even harder. How do you photograph something like this?
We all have photos. Do they meet the challenge? Maybe, maybe not. So it's a good thing we make up the rules!
My plans for getting a photo were rained out (mainly because I tend to wait till the day before to figure it all out). Here's my effort for the week.

Google came to my rescue at about 5 PM yesterday. Thankfully I remembered where the Scrabble game was (we've ...
read moreIt's been 5 weeks since my last photo challenge post. The main reason the challenge was on hiatus was Grad Girl's big exam that required a lot of effort to get ready for. Now That she's past that and a lot of our travel is done for a bit, we were all ready to get back to getting photos for the last challenge.
This one was harder than we expected. To be honest, I struggled the most. I didn't get my photos till last night and it took some set up and patience.

This last week went fast. As usual, I was scrambling yesterday to come up with a photo for this week's challenge:
I thought this one would be easier than the challenge cards we've had the last couple of weeks. The camera came out yesterday and some photos were taken ensuring there was a photo for today's post. Then I uploaded my the photos for the last week and found a couple of options from some earlier shots.

Capturing the textures was my goal when I took the photo. But it works perfectly for this ...

This week's photo challenge was harder than last week's. Last week both My Guy and I were scratching our heads, this week's definitely had us racking our brains.
To be honest, I completely forgot about getting a challenge photo till My Guy got home from work last night. He asked if I had a photo. I'd been so focused on other things that I had completely forgotten. So I scrounged around trying to find subject matter. I found two "subjects". One was too close to what My Guy had submitted, so I went with my #2 ...
read moreAll three of us enjoy this photo challenge. It's been such fun to see what we each come up with. But some week's are more of a challenge to find a photo then others. This week was that way for me and My Guy.
This isn't an object, it's an activity. It would be easy to take photos of each of us sleeping, but to be honest those probably aren't the most interesting subjects. I struggled all week with getting a photo. In fact you can tell from mine that inspiration didn't strike till ...
read moreThis week's challenge was another photography technique.
These can be harder as the subject is wide open. Anything can be a photo, so you have to self edit. At any rate, before I get to the pictures, I should probably define "depth of field". The distance between the closet and farthest objects in a photo that is acceptably sharp is the depth of field. So a shallow depth of field is one where only a part of the photo is in sharp focus.
I took lots of photos this week, but only one set really fit the challenge requirements ...
read moreI hadn't planned to write photo challenge post this morning. Grad Girl is getting ready for her preliminary exam, so she's been really busy and working long days. Getting a photograph isn't her priority. She didn't think she'd have one for this week, but she texted me one for this challenge after I'd gone to bed.
Before posting the photos, let's discuss the rule of thirds as it relates to photography. Basically it's one way to set up the composition of your photos. The photo frame is divided into 9 equal rectangles ...
read moreThis week the weather had been typical for the first half of August, hot and miserable. Though the evening thunderstorms are not usually on the agenda, normally it's very dry this month. We've needed the rain, so things are much greener then usual for this time of year. Thankfully this week's photo challenge didn't require being out in the elements, but it felt like a scavenger hunt as I scoured the house for subject matter for this week's challenge photo.
I actually ventured into the attic (never wise on a August afternoon) and finally decided ...
read moreEveryone got on the ball this week and had a photo to send me last night. This week's challenge is one where the subject was secondary and the technique was primary.
